I’ve been known to have a few too many of these cocktails in Hawaii, but really, who’s counting! I think I hit the perfect balance of flavors in this Mai Tai.
Makes 2 Mai Tai’s
3 oz light rum
3 oz dark rum
1 oz Grand Marnier
4 oz pineapple juice
2 oz guava juice
2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
1 oz orgeat syrup (almond syrup)
1 oz simple syrup
Crushed mint leaves for garnish
Pineapple slices for garnish
Lime Wedge for garnish
Add all the ingredients (except the mint leaves and lime wedge) to a cocktail shaker. Shake at least 10 times.
Fill 2 glasses with crushed ice. Crush the mint leaves between your fingers and put one in each glass. Pour into the 2 glasses. Garnish with either pineapple wedge, lime, flower, mint and sugar cane stick or all of them.
