There’s nothing better than slow braised beef on a cold winter’s night. Add a little sausage, parmesan cheese and basil and you’ve got a delicious Italian version of pot roast. Serve with my Balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes.
This is a classic french recipe that I decided to use very expensive filet’s to see how much richer it would be. Probably the best beef bourguignon I’ve had anywhere!
This is one of my go-to recipes because I usually have most of the ingredients on hand. If you don’t have the cauliflower and broccolini, just roast any vegetables you have such as zucchini, squash, carrots, etc.
This is one of my favorite stew’s to eat here in the Southwest in the winter. I added sweet corn to offset the spiciness. This is served at the Roaring Fork Restaurant by chef Robert McGrath and this is my version. It’s freakin delicious. Make sure you get mild poblanos.
Succulent pulled pork with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. This will make the perfect sandwich for your next barbecue. The beauty of this recipe is you can make the barbecue sauce and spice rub one day ahead.
This is one of those recipes where I pulled out everything Italian from my refrigerator and created a decadent pasta dish. You can use any type of pasta you want but I think penne or rigatoni go well with this because the sauce and vegetables fill the inside of the pasta when you mix it.
Cappricciosa is a type of popular Italian pizza with prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato sauce, green olives and sometimes artichokes. I used the ingredients of the pizza and transformed the classic to a salad. Great skinny tips at the bottom of the recipe!
There’s nothing better than a bowl of noodles with fresh ingredients. This is such a nice light change to the traditional spaghetti recipes out there. I purchased the mushrooms inexpensively from Costco. Trade in your red sauce and try this one.
Grand Mere is a decadent French fricassee stew. I decided to re-invent this recipe and put it in a pot pie. This is something you want to serve to only the very special people in your life as it is extremely decadent and memorable.
View this Recipe Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2S7KxZ6Ww0 Be prepared when you make this chicken marsala as it will be “hands down” better than any marsala you’ve had in a restaurant. I added garlic, shallots and heavy cream which aren’t necessarily in the traditional recipes. OMG…this is great! I should of been Italian…oh wait I am!
This use to be one of my favorite recipes when I was in my twenties. I thought it would be fun to try this recipe with some sweet and spicy pickles and I was right…it’s the bomb! Use whole tomatoes in this recipe instead of canned crushed. It’s nice to have little pieces of tomato [...]
This is the most unbelievable tasting lasagna. You will be hooked once you make it. Definitely not a skinny dish. Serves a lot of people so make it at your next family gathering.
Chicken legs were never really a favorite of mine until I put my blackberry sauce on them. WOW…what a treat for the stomach. The barbecue sauce goes well with grilled chicken and also pork.
This is a nice and spicy jumbalaya with authentic flavors from New Orleans. Simmering the shrimp shells with the chicken broth intensifies the shrimp flavor in the dish.
I had to use my new Madras curry powder from Williams Sonoma and it was sweeeeeeeet! I took most of the oil out and used light coconut milk and added some vegetables in. Serve with jasmine rice.
This is a nice and light version of Chicken Tikka. I took most of the oil out and its still delicious! The sweetness of the eggplant works well with the spicyness of the sauce.
This a nice and light version of Chicken Tikka. I omitted most of the oil out of this recipe as Indian food tends to be a little oily and it’s still delicious.
This is my favorite barbecue sauce that I created. Use fresh blackberries. You can make this barbecue sauce as spicy as you want or not spicy at all. I serve these pork chops with my Shaved Brussels Sprout and Beet Salad.
The sweetness of the pomegranate glaze and the spiciness from the rub on the salmon complement each other so well. The shaved brussels sprout salad is so crisp and unique I decided to put a little mexican spin on the salad.
Instead of putting pasta on a plate and serving, make this stack and serve hot right at the table in the stack. Let your guests remove the foodstax and join in on the fun.
View this Recipe Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhO_7RkrFkI This is an inspiration from a recipe given to me by Sharon Kilb years ago. She turned me on to Pesto. I took out a few things and added a few things and this is the delicious dish I came up with. Use fresh store-bought pesto if you can find [...]
These are great for barbecues as you can marinate them ahead of time, put them on skewers and then put them on the grill when your guests arrive. Nice sweet and tangy flavor!
If you’re looking for a kid friendly meal that you can make ahead, this recipe will work for you. Not only is the presentation beautiful but your kids will love it!
This is one of those healthy and light dishes that you will make over and over. The mustard sauce is tangy and goes well with the halibut. Nice and light.
Now here is the dish you need to be making for your significant other on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s extremely flavorful. Serve it with my Slam Dunk Irish Potatoes with Bacon a nd Cabbage
Ok, all I can say about this dish is I got my first “11″ from my husband. He gives me a 1-10 for all of my recipes. I had some Bosc pears from Trader Joes that were ripe and I decided to add them into the curry sauce to sweeten it up and it totally [...]
I told you guys I would create something for my ripe pears. This came out great. The sweetness of the pears complements the spicyness of the steak. Togarashi is a Japanese 7 spice.
This was the recipe I made the first night in Italy for Jackie’s 50th birthday. It was a huge success. Porcini’s were in season and we bought them by the bag full. Unfortunately, if you can get them in the states they are quite expensive. If you can find them and want to splurge you won’t [...]
My favorite chicken enchiladas are in Phoenix from “Carlos Obriens” and are soooo good. I made these and thought I’d died and gone to Mexico! Quite Yummy!
On my vacation in Germany I had the opportunity to have the most delicious Pork Schnitzel in a Mushroom Sauce. So of course, I couldn’t wait to get home and duplicate the recipe. I added tarragon to the sauce and it came out better than expected. The key to a good Schnitzel is the thinness of [...]
This recipe sounds quite plain but it’s got to be one of the best tasting pasta’s I’ve made. I made this recipe at a cooking school in Tuscany but with homemade pasta and it was incredible.
This chicken has a wonderful slightly spicy lemony flavor and the best part of all is the flavorful bread crumbs on top the chicken breasts. Serve with green beans and a salad.
My husband made these for my birthday and they were so good I might have to have these every weekend. Makes a great appetizer or even as an entree with a salad.
I smoked the beef brisket for about 10 hours in my Bradley digital smoker and it came out unbelievable. I used half of the brisket for the chili and saved the other half in the freezer. The poblanos and beer add a nice spicy flavor to the chili. Serve with any kind of toppings you [...]
View this Recipe Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4urETlnTQ8 I used very little oil in this recipe and used Olive oil spray to saute the steak and vegetables. This is the tastiest noodle dish I’ve made so far. You’re going to love it. Even better the second day heated up!
